So, year 2 of Cleveland Food Rocks became the Chef Jam 2010 and we moved into the Rock Hall for the soiree. 26 of Cleveland’s finest chefs showed up dressed for the part, ROCK STARS! Each Chef chose a rock theme and paired it with a dish that embodied the style. From LSD,(Lemon Scented Donuts) to Dark Side of the Moon Pies or Zappa’s Yellow Snow, all the dishes were killa! 3 bands made up from chefs rocked the hall and my band Cream of the Crop wrapped up the night with an hour and a half set with Todd Rundgren at the helm. 1000 people ended up as the luck tickets holders and based on the last 4 days we could have sold another 1000 tickets. My cell and email was off the charts with desperate calls to find them a way to get in. Sorry…………be ready next year and don’t procrastinate!
The Friday before the event we arranged band practice with Todd at the ABC tavern as a secret gig, yet word got out and the place was packed with Todd fans who didn’t really believe he was actually playing with a local band comprised of chefs! What a blast! Too much to cover regarding the whole event but at the end of the day we raised $40,000 for the Rock Hall education programs and Cleveland Food Rocks! Not bad at all………..
THANK YOU to everyone who worked hard to make this possible!
It was a FABULOUS event, Chef. Congratulations! It was the best event that I’ve been to all year, and I’ll be in line as soon as ticket sales open next year. Great evening.
